As expected with the world’s first Playstation certified phone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play costs quite a fortune on most stores, including Verizon, which sells the unit for $199.99 exclusive of a two-year contract. To many, this said price is all worth it because you can rarely see a dedicated phone that has a PSP-like functionality while still receiving calls.
While most teens and tech freaks these days are saving money to obtain such a phone, you might have to get your eyes peeled since there are available deals online where the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play only costs less than a dollar. The catch? Do not buy the smartphone from Verizon, and that is it. Wirefly offers the phone for $0.99 while Amazon sells it for a penny, both having two-year contracts, but at least the unit is a lot inexpensive. There is an option however, since Wirefly may market the smartphone for $0.98 more, but it includes a $25 credit for the Android market.
