Cellular South, the largest privately owned wireless communications provider in the U.S., today announced plans to introduce the highly-anticipated BlackBerry PlayBook tablet beginning tomorrow to consumer and business customers.
The BlackBerry PlayBook runs the new BlackBerry Tablet OS offering exceptional multitasking performance with support for symmetric multiprocessing. Weighing less than a pound and only a half inch thick, the ultra-portable and super-thin tablet features a 1 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM and a 7 inch high resolution LCD screen that gives Cellular South customers a new type of mobile computing experience with Wi-Fi or with the optional Novatel Wireless 2200 MiFi hotspot for mobile broadband network compatibility.

To celebrate the introduction of the new PlayBook tablet, Cellular South will be giving away one of the tablets every day for 10 days starting on April 28 via all three of its social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. No purchase is necessary and consumers do not have to be Cellular South customers to win the prize, but they need to be at least 18 years of age and reside in Mississippi, or Tennessee and 19 years of age and live in Alabama.

The 16 GB BlackBerry PlayBook tablet with built-in Wi-Fi connectivity will be available for order online from Cellular South starting April 19 for $499. Customers who want anytime, anywhere mobile broadband connectivity can pair up the tablet with a free Novatel Wireless MiFiTM 2200 mobile hotspot with the purchase of a data plan.
Cellular South recently revamped its data plans and now offers consumers three individual choices, including a $19.99 1 GB per month plan and a $29.99 3 GB per month and $49.99 5 GB per month plan. The company also features an online data usage calculator that helps customers determine which plan best meets their personal or business data needs.
