Retailer will stock “one of most important handsets of the year” from Spring this year
The Carphone Warehouse has announced today it will be the exclusive launch partner for the LG Optimus 3D handset (pictured).
The device was launched earlier this week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The Android 3.2 running Optimus 3D sports a dual five mega pixel lens camera and allows users to capture and record 3D images and video.
It also has a bright 4.3 inch WVGA display allowing users to view content without the use of 3D glasses in both 2D and 3D.
Carphone would not reveal an exact date for the launch saying only it would be in the Spring.
Orange had earlier in the week confirmed it would stock the device in Q2 2011.
Carphone Warehouse and best Buy chief commercial officer Graham Stapleton said: “The LG Optimus 3D handset is one of the most important and technologically advanced handset releases of the year.
“With an industry first of 3D capture and playback, without the need for glasses and dual core technology for multitasking, this handset provides a new and altogether stunning experience wherever you are.”
