I hate to write this enviously that even a manufacturer like ZTE has come up with an Android 2.3 running smartphone. Not that I own a phone manufacturing company of my own, but it is beacuse I posses the first generation (I hate to write this) Galaxy S and it has still not been updated to Froyo. In contrast there is a ZTE device which now comes with a superior version of the Android OS.
Anyway, putting my woes to rest (but only momentarily) the fact of the matter is that ZTE, the lesser known Chinese manufacturer of phones has come up with its first substantial device dubbed the Skate. Other than Android 2.3 on-board, the Skate comes with attractions like 4.3″ display probably hailing from the WVGA territory.
As far as the processor is concerned, Skate features an unknown 800MHz CPU with the last-generation Adreno 200 GPU, which is decent enough considering the moniker this smartphone will bear. The device is inspired by a skateboard and it bears a 5MP camera on the rear.
Though we’ve heard that ZTE wants to make inroads into the US market this year, the Skate will probably not make the cut considering the bands it supports.
