HTC’s rumoured quick Facebook Phones gained some credibility with a last-minute leak on Monday night.
Full-touch Icon and QWERTY Candy bar Snap 2 both appear to have a Facebook Key built into the phone chin that would jump to the social network.
Photos snapped with either could upload directly to Facebook without the in-between process of today. Either should use HTC’s Sense interface, but whether they would upgrade to Android 2.3 or stay locked to 2.2 on shipping isn’t known; notably, Sense has been updated and shows Facebook updates below the clock rather than the weather.
Both would have only a small amount of baseline storage to emphasize the cloud and might have constantly active GPS for Facebook Places, although it wasn’t said how they would accomplish this without a hit to battery life. These phones should be unveiled at a Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona and should be available this year, although when will vary depending on the carrier and the country.
