HTC Sensation

HTC Corporation and Telstra today unveiled the HTC Sensation smartphone which will be available exclusively from today on the Telstra Mobile Network powered by Next G.

“The HTC Sensation is the ultimate multimedia smartphone,” said Ben Hodgson, Country Manager, HTC Australia and New Zealand. “With its premium industrial design, look and feel, an immersive, richer movie watching and music listening experience by virtue of its true widescreen and virtual surround sound capabilities, the HTC Sensation is simply a feast for the senses.”

“HTC Sensation is the epic Android-powered mobile Aussie smartphone fans have been waiting for,” said Andrew Volard, Director Telstra Mobile Product. “Harnessing a powerful dual-core processer, the HTC Sensation allows customers to enjoy graphic-intensive games, HD video, fast mobile web browsing and multitasking. The combination of the very latest Android 2.3 operating software and HTC Sense means customers can totally customise this phone with thousands of apps, widgets and games. This allows them quick access to the information and entertainment that matters to them most. The Sensation will also be the first Telstra smartphone to launch with TelstraOne – a new Android app that brings unmetered news, sports and weather feeds direct to your Android homescreen via customisable widgets.”

HTC Sensation

Tapping into HTC’s trademark design language, the HTC Sensation’s premium look and feel is enhanced by its rounded edges, aluminium unibody construction and the touch screen surface is protected by a contoured screen that feels more natural as a finger glides across it. The 4.3-inch qHD display delivers high-resolution true 16:9 widescreen viewing and gives the HTC Sensation slender proportions that feel natural in a person’s hand. At the heart of the HTC Sensation beats a powerful, 1.2-gigahertz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which enables a superior multimedia experience and all-round fast performance.

HTC Sense

Complementing the HTC Sensation’s premium design and multimedia capabilities is the latest HTC Sense experience that boasts a host of new features and enhancements, helping people to have more fun and get more done. HTC Sense introduces a customisable active lockscreen that transforms the lockscreen into a real-time window to the most important information and content, such as social updates, photos, weather or stock updates that are viewed by simply turning on the display. In addition, the new active lockscreen becomes a customisable gateway that lets people quickly jump to the most used features, like making a phone call, sending an email, taking a picture or anything else with the same quick gesture usually used to unlock the phone.

HTC Sense enhances many other commonly used features, such as the camera. The HTC Sensation’s 8-megapixel camera doesn’t just shoot gorgeous photos but, with the new instant capture feature, lets people capture the moments they want without worrying about missing or keeping up with the action. The HTC Sensation also shoots full HD video in 1080p resolution, with full stereo sound, at up to 30 frames a second, giving you smooth video that is better than many other phones. With the new Video Trimmer tool, people can crop their clips to the perfect size for easy sharing with friends and family. HTC Sense just makes the device more user-friendly.

TelstraOne

The TelstraOne app for Android launches on HTC Sensation and brings news, sports and weather feeds direct to a customer’s homescreen.  Customers can set up general news or sports widgets. Or, if they’re interested in specific news categories, such as Entertainment, or a particular sport such as NRL, they can set up mini widgets dedicated to this content. TelstraOne also includes two handy weather widgets and, for the first time, a My Account widget that makes it easy to see at a glance how much included data a customer has remaining. Best of all, TelstraOne content is unmetered on the Telstra Next G network.

HD Voice enabled

The HTC Sensation is one of a growing number of Telstra smartphones enabled to support HD Voice. Telstra customers with an HD-compatible handset can make and receive HD Voice calls automatically at no extra cost where the receiver also uses a HD Voice compatible handset on the Next G network – Australia’s only mobile HD Voice network.
