Astounding to know that LG has accelerate a press release detailing its premier device line-up for MWC 2011, with the LG Optimus 3D and Optimus Pad being the two flagship devices and the Optimus 2X and Black following behind them.
We all being aware of the fact that the 3D and Pad were coming to MWC, but it’s always nice to receive official authentication. However, here’s a basic rundown of these devices:
Optimus 3D uses a 1 GHz dual-core TI OMAP4 processor with “four times more video decoders than competing designs”, with higher graphics performance, HDMI and DLNA options for easy connectivity to HDTVs and other multimedia devices, and also includes a dual-lens camera that can take 3D pictures and display them in 3D on a 4.3 WVGA display without needing glasses. No word on which version of Android it will use, though it’s quite possible it will be running 2.2 Froyo and later upgradeable to Gingerbread.
LG Optimus Pad is LG’s answer to the competing tablets like the Motorola Xoom; it uses an 8.9 WXGA screen with 1280 x 768 resolutions that comes with 15:9 aspect ratio and 1080p decoding. It will feature Android 3.0 Honeycomb, and run on a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor. It will also have a competitive edge over every other tablet already announced by offering a 3D camera. So therefore it’s quiet good to know that LG is making a return to the Largest Mobile Event with a rich collection of Mobile Devices.
