The Word signs Welsh football deal

Welsh dealer’s logo will appear on Wales under 18 football teams shirt as part of agreement with WSFA

Welsh B2B dealer and Vodafone ‘Platinum’ partner The Word has signed a shirt sponsorship deal with the Welsh Schools Football Association (WSFA) under-18 international team on a rolling basis.

The WSFA, which is celebrating its centenary year, has arranged a number of international matches to enable young upcoming players to represent Wales against other national teams.

The Word, which will now feature its branding on every Wales under-18 shirt, said it has entered the sponsorship deal in order to become positively involved with the local community.

The WSFA organises competitions for pupils in primary and secondary schools at both inter-school and inter-county levels and administrates international football at under-15, under-16 and under-18 age groups.

It also works with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) and Welsh Football Trust in the identification and development of players.

The Word managing director Huw Stiley (pictured) said: “As well as helping to identify and coach the next generation of professional players, this helps young people to develop their social skills, fitness and understand what it is to be committed to a team with an aligned purpose.”
