It’s hard to believe but there are still Android smartphone plodding along with Android 2.1 and just begging to get updated to Android 2.2 Froyo, and for quite some time the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide has been one such handset, but not any more.
According to an article over on Ubergizmo and by way of Tmonews, the long, long wait for Android 2.2 Froyo to be made available to the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide has now come to an end as T-Mobile has released the update for download to the device.
Unfortunately though the Android Froyo update for the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide isn’t over-the-air so owners have to grab the update manually and requires 25MB and a Windows computer as there’s no support for Mac, and HTC has an installation guide along with an HTC SYNC 3.0 download available on their website.
So if you own the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide and haven’t yet grabbed some Android 2.2 Froyo goodness for your smartphone then get to it and feel free to let us know how it goes and if you experience and difficulties.
