For those looking to purchase the long awaited LG Optimus V at Target, the stock number has been revealed as well as the activation instructions, as the phone has not been officially announced by Virgin Mobile for purchase and many customer service representatives have yet to realize the phone is being sold ahead of its official launch date.
The Target DPCI (internal stock SKU) number for the Virgin Mobile Optimus V is 080-02-0724. Use that number when calling Target stores to make sure the phones are in stock, as many stores have limited numbers on hand ahead of the official launch next month. Pricing for the phone is set at $149.99.
Once purchased, since the standard online activation process for the phone will not work properly due to its unreleased status in Virgin Mobile’s activation system, a workaround has been devised that will activate the device as normal.
After activating, enter (i.e. dial) ##847446# from your new phone
Choose Edit
Enter the MSN that Virgin Mobile gives you (cell phone number)
Enter the MSID (may have unnecessary numbers before the main number)
Choose Done
Your phone will reboot.
