Vodafone UK enterprise director Peter Kelly discusses the prospect of unified comms in the public sector in 2011
“Our indirect partners, with close links to local businesses, remain a significant channel into SMEs. Unified comms will be an area of growth for partners.
“Now is a crucial time in the public sector. Not only must organisations manage the increasing demand for public services, they need do so as they transform how services are delivered.
“It will be vital public sector organisations deliver services in a more efficient way and embrace technology to deliver transformation.
“Flexible working policies can help them become more efficient by enabling property rationalisation and reducing travel budgets. To be effective, flexible workers need the same communications capabilities they have at their desk, with the same level of security for company data.
“Also, this will be the year of the smart meter as large scale deployment begins across the UK.”
